Beginning Experience

Come and experience
a weekend support
program for
Widowed, Divorced,
& Separated
men & women.

What is the Beginning Experience?

The Beginning Experience is a weekend program designed
to help those people who have suffered trauma through
separation, divorce, relationship loss, death,
or other grief-filled experience.

B.E. is an aid in making a new beginning in life
through a powerful, intense experience of self-awareness.

This program helps people deal with the
psychological grief process, and offers an opportunity
for turning pain into grace. In addition to having
experienced the trauma of separation events,
often divorced and widowed persons see themselves as
standing on the periphery of the church,
like unwanted and unloved children.

The Beginning Experience is a unique Christian
experience open to people of all faiths.

Mission

The Beginning Experience is an international peer ministry
for divorced, separated, and widowed persons.

The B.E. weekend is the foundation of the ministry.
The weekend is an invitational process intended to help resolve grief, promote healing, and
thereby free people to live and to love
themselves, others, and God.

The Beginning Experience is an international organization,
headquartered in South Bend, Indiana,
with more than 140 teams in the United States,
Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia,
and New Zealand. You can access

B.E. weekends are scheduled several times each year
in the spring, summer, and fall. Please revisit
this site periodically for upcoming schedules.

Each weekend program begins Friday evening
and ends Sunday afternoon.

The cost of the weekend is approximately
$140 per person. This includes room and board.
If you are unable to pay the full amount
before the weekend, time payments can be arranged.
In case of financial distress, partial scholarships
may be available, just let us know.
We want everyone who is ready, and would like
to join us on the weekend to be able to.

B.E. team leaders

Can you tell me something about
the B.E. team leaders?

The team leaders are men and women
who are divorced, separated, or widowed.
They have experienced the weekend and
have completed a special training program
to prepare them for this ministry.
We are NOT professional counselors.
